It is not always easy deciding where to take to take young children in their pink buggy. It is however essential that you give some thought to the little ones and do not simply go where you want to go. Although some may enjoy shopping trips, a lot of them will not.
Of course, you do have to do those things that seem boring to them but you should help them to understand that there will be some fun for them as well.
What you think as exciting for them may not be what they want either. When I told my 7 year old that I was taking him to the amusement park, he firmly told me “I am not one year old”. Equally there is no fun for a toddler who cannot get out of the pushchair to watch the older children enjoying themselves. It is so easy to forget how quickly the needs of our children change as they grow older.
The young children, even if they are still in their prams, will almost all enjoy a trip to an animal park where they can feed the baby goats and lambs.
As they get a bit older there is the possibility of trying educational trips, maybe to a museum. Looking at skeletons of enormous extinct animals can be very exciting for a little boy whilst it might frighten little girls. A lot of them have areas where the kids can do some hands on learning which they often enjoy.
It is often the simplest things however that will give children of any age the most pleasure. Whilst you can spend a lot of money taking them places, there are lots of national parks and open areas which cost nothing. Set out a picnic and take a ball and your little ones can enjoy themselves running and kicking around for hours.
Bear in mind that things you understand may not seem the same to them. The idea of a visit to a cave will, at first glance, seem exciting for them. That is until they realise that what they are actually going to do is to climb down into a big dark hole in the ground. That will not seem nearly as attractive to a little girl in her pink buggy.
